A Pink
A Pink (에이핑크) is a seven-member girl group established by A Cube Entertainment. The current members are Chorong, Bomi, Eunji, Naeun, Yookyung, Namjoo, and Hayoung. They are the winners of the 2011 Best New Female Artist at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
The official fan club of A pink is called “Pink Panda”. Although “Panda” seems random, “pan” is pronounced in the same way that “fan” does in Korean phonetics.

Pre-Debut
The members of the group had been in the company for long enough that they had been featured on TV beforehand. Members Son NaEun and Park ChoRong were in the music videos for Beast. The rest of the members were revealed through A Cube Entertainment’s official Twitter and a documentary of the group was aired on March 11, 2011. The documentary showed how the members came to be; training process, lifestyle, etc.
On April 15, a teaser video for the debut title song “I Don’t Know” was released.
2011: Debut
On April 19, A pink released their debut EP album “Seven Springs of A pink” along with the music video for “I Don’t Know”. On April 21, the group held their debut performance on various music shows such as M! Countdown, MusicBank, Show! MusicCore, InKiGaYo, etc. A pink even got the nickname of “The Second Girls Generation”. During the debut process, A pink revealed the official fan club name as “Pink Panda” at their official fan meet.
A pink released their second EP album titled “Snow Pink” on November 22, 2011. The Snow Pink EP album consisted of five songs with “My My” as its title track. To promote their album, the group hosted a one-day tea cafe which gave away profits to charity. The members also auctioned off their belongings where the profits also went to charity.
A pink was awarded the “Best New Female Artist” at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards.
2012
The group started off the year with taking first place at M! CountDown on January 1, 2012 – it was their first time since debut.
A Cube Entertainment released the album jacket photos for A pink’s first official studio album on May 3, 2012. They released various teaser photos and A pink’s first studio album was released on May 9, 2012. A pink’s first studio album was titled “Une Année”, which stands for change. The group showed a different side and showed off a new style of music. Une Année featured label mate artists such as G.NA for the intro song, and Yong JunHyung of Beast for the song “Up In The Sky”.
