Orange Caramel History
Debut
On June 16, 2010, Orange Caramel debuted with their first single “Magic Girl” and released their first mini-album “The First Mini Album” on June 21, 2010. Orange Caramel became a hot topic of conversation because it deviated from the powerful, sexy concept most girls group use. The overly cute, pink concept and unique choreography became extremely popular especially among elementary school students. ”The First Mini Album” proved to be a tremendous success reaching the #2 spot on the Gaon Chart. Orange Caramel sparked much interest in Taiwan due to the Taiwanese agency “Golden Typhoon” being appointed the record label in Taiwan.
Orange Caramel released their second mini-album “The Second Mini Album” which made the #9 spot on the Gaon Chart. The lead singe “A~ing♡” also did well, peaking at #4.
One Asia Project
On March 30, 2011, Orange Caramel released the “Bangkok City” single. It was the beginning of their “One Asia” project which showcases various Asian cities. ”Bangkok City” became their most successful single grabbing the #1 spot on various music charts. They followed it up with “Shanghai Romance” which was released on October 13, 2011 and peaked at #3.
