Over the years, many K-pop idols have left the music industry for a variety of reasons. This may be due to a resolution, controversy, dispute with a management agency, research, health issues, and more. As they returned to normal life, some of them now have permanent jobs. Below are five idols who left the K-pop industry and now have a different job.

Former AOA Kwon Mina

In May 2019, Kwon Mina left AOA and FNC Entertainment simultaneously. She then joined O & Entertainment two months later and pursued a business as an actress, but left the following year.

In 2020, Mina signed a contract with Woori Actors to pursue an acting career. However, she left the agency in September of the same year after she accused her former AOA member Shin Jimin of bullying.

It is now believed that Kwon Mina is not affiliated with any company. He also currently lives in Huam-dong and works as a manager in a skincare store owned by someone he knows.

Another former AOA member on our list is Yuna, who left the group and FNC Entertainment in January 2021 after deciding not to renew her exclusive contract. A month later, she revealed that she had earned her yona instructor certification, meaning she had completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training.

Then in December of the same year, YunA announced that she had officially transformed into a yoga instructor and was leading a new life outside of the entertainment industry.

Former 1TEAM member Rubin is one of the male K-pop idols who left the industry and now does a different job. After the boy band disbanded in March 2021, all members left Liveworks Company. Rubin in particular has focused on his career as a tattoo artist and uses the pseudonym “Colin” in his work.

Former DIA Somyi

The current work of former DIA member Somyia shocked fans the moment it was discovered. Somyi has been inactive with DIA since March 2019, and PocketDol Studio only announced in January 2022 that the idol had terminated the contract due to health problems.

Prior to its announcement in November 2021, it was revealed that Somyi made his debut as a PandaTV (BJ) broadcasting jockey under the name “Chomyi”. Many fans have been disappointed with her new career as PandaTV is one of the myriad live streaming services in South Korea and is especially known for its adult content aged 19+.

Finally, former member of VIVA Lea (who is the older sister of TXT Huening Kai and Kep1er Huening Bahiyyih) left the K-pop industry sometime in 2019 following the unofficial dissolution of the girly group in May of this year.

In 2020, Lea launched her YouTube channel and has been actively uploading video content since then. She is also currently a model managed by Model Directors and is a full-time influencer on Instagram and TikTok.
