The road of K-pop idols to debut on the music scene is different from the beginning. Most of the artists were regular students at the time they were being researched by entertainment companies. But there were also idols who were popular even before their debut as singers. For example, the following artists initially made themselves known to the public through acting.

The first on our list is one of the newest K-pop idols, LAPILLUS Chanty. Filipino K-pop fans already know her as Chanty began her career in the Philippines as an actress and model. It was managed by one of the largest agencies in the country called Star Magic.

She was introduced as a Star Magic talent in March 2018 and has starred in several local dramas until 2020 including “Spirits Reawaken.” She then left the Philippines in 2021 and signed with MLD Entertainment as an intern. She made her debut as a LAPILLUS member on September 22, 2022, and now her fanbase includes more than just Filipino fans.

Kep1er Yeseo is also a K-pop idol who made her debut as an actress. Some of you may not be aware of this, but she started appearing in dramas from mid-2010 to 2013. Her most popular role is arguably Choi Ji Young, the wealthy young daughter of the Chief Police Commissioner in the 2013 Korean cult film “Miracle in a Cell”. No. 7. “She was the young girl who got the last Sailor Moon bag on display at the store.

In late 2010, Yeseo made her debut as a member of the CutieL children’s girl group under Big Star Entertainment. She later joined Busters in 2019 as lead singer and is now the maknae of the girls’ design group Kep1er that debuted on January 3, 2022.

STAYC Sieun made her debut as a child actress in 2014 on a children’s television show called “Pluto Secret Society.” Since then, she has appeared in many dramas and even films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, “Good Wife”, “Still 17”, “Six Flying Dragons”, “Love Forecast”, “Golden Dream”.

With her superb acting, Sieun won the award for Best Young Actress at the 2018 SBS Drama Awards. She joined JYP Entertainment in 2017 but moved to High Up Entertainment two years later.

What many fans probably don’t know is that EVERGLOW Aisha is also a K-pop idol who initially made her acting debut. The singer “LA DI DA” revealed in “Foreverglow Documentary # 2” that she is a child actress. She started acting when she was only five years old, and after three years she began training to become an idol.

Finally, Park Jin Joo made her debut as a member of the WSG Wannabe sub-division called OASISO on July 9, 2022. Before that, she made her first appearance as an actress playing teenage Hwan Jin He in the 2011 hit Korean movie “Sunny”. She went on to play secondary roles in K’s hit dramas such as “Hotel Del Luna”, “It’s All Right To Be Right”, “Our Beloved Summer”, “Whole You Were Sleeping”, “The Incarnation Of Jealousy” and more.
