Many K-pop idols have revealed how strict their companies were when they were still apprentices. There are agencies that carefully monitor the weight of their students, prohibit them from using phones and even dating. One wrong move made the apprentice able to throw it away in the blink of an eye. This is what almost happened to the five K-pop idols below. In 2017, BTS Jimin revealed a pre-debut story about how he was almost removed from the group’s debut line-up in a special film. He said he was kicked from the team almost eight times. Suga then commented, “Wasn’t he almost kicked out the day before our debut?”

Jimin went on to explain that the reason was that a few people at Big Hit Music didn’t think he would do well as a member of BTS. He shared: “(I cannot give their names), but there were many people who opposed me (joining the group).”

It is believed that these people thought this way because Jimin’s dance style was completely different from the style that K-pop idols have, so it was difficult for him to adapt. To begin with, Jimin specialized in contemporary dance.

AOA Seolhyun is another K-pop idol who almost got kicked out of her company during her internships. This is because she missed singing and dancing lessons once to watch the movie “Kung Fu Panda 2” together with other trainees. It wouldn’t be fair if no one knew, but she met the head of their agency at the same cinema they went to.

As a punishment, the head of the company ordered all interns to leave the label. But he finally thought about it and called back all the interns a few days later.

In “Happy Together”, Super Junior Heechul revealed that SM Entertainment almost forced him to leave the agency while he was an intern. It all started when his trainer found out he was listening to rock music instead of the one he was going to study. Heechul then reacted arrogantly with the coach.

As a result, the trainer chided him and asked him to write a letter of apology. Although he didn’t apologize for what he said, he still wrote an apology letter. He was then sent home because of his attitude and suspended from the training program.

So how could he go back to MS? Well, he made it back when Lee Soo Man noticed he wasn’t in the agency and asked people where he was.

In the case of Block B, PO was really fired from the company when he was an intern, but was given another shot when he lost some weight. He told the story during his performance on Radio Star.

PO said that at that time he was training with WINNER Mino. One day their company’s CEO spoke to them saying that they would quit the PO as an intern, while Mino could continue. Mino was against the idea and said he would also leave, but the PO persuaded him to stay. The PO eventually returned to the agency after shedding a few pounds.

EXO Lay’s story is not confirmed, but he was reportedly forced to leave SM Entertainment while he was an intern. The reason is that Lay was fighting another intern over a bowl of rice.

The incident happened after a long day of training and Lay was exhausted and saw a bowl of rice on the table. He dug up right away, but another apprentice was furious with him for eating his meal. I ended up fighting and exchanging hot words.

SM finally knew about it and ordered Lay to return to China. Fortunately, the label gave him another chance and thanks to it he was able to debut.

According to some fans, Lay mentioned it when he mentored “Idol Producer” in China while one fan taken over that this story can be found in Jay’s autobiography Standing Firm at 24.
