The topic of fanfiction is often controversial among K-Pop fans. While some fanfiction is harmless stories written by loving fans as simply displays of their creativity and imagination, opinions are divided on the appropriateness and morality of fanfiction more focused on sexuality.
Recently on Reddit, a fan collected data on K-Pop fanfiction from one of the most popular and well known sites for them, ArchiveOfOurOwn (better known as AO3). With what they discovered, they were able to find out not only which K-Pop artists have the most fanfiction written about them, but also what is the average amount of fiction written about them each day. Fanfiction ratings have not been included, so they range from innocent crap to possibly hardcore porn.
Here are the 15 K-Pop groups that average the most new fanfiction about them each day on AO3. Please note that the data was collected on March 13.
1. BTS
BTS has written a total of 202,983 fanfictions about them since their debut 3,560 days ago, for an average of 57.0 new fiction written per day.
2. Stray children
Since their debut 1,814 days ago, a total of 46,495 fanfiction has been written about them, for an average of 25.6 new fiction per day.
3. NCT
NCT has written a total of 64,307 fanfiction about them since their debut 2,529 days ago, for an average of 25.4 new fiction written per day.
4. EXO
EXO has written a total of 64,308 fanfiction about them since their debut 3,991 days ago, for an average of 16.1 new fiction written per day.
5. SEVENTEEN
SEVENTEEN have had a total of 36,205 fanfiction written about them since their debut 2,848 days ago, for an average of 12.7 new fiction written per day.
6. ENTRIES
ENHYPEN has written a total of 9,770 fanfictions about them since their debut 833 days ago, for an average of 11.7 new fiction written per day.
7. ATEEZ
ATEEZ has written a total of 18,523 fanfiction about them since their debut 1,601 days ago, for an average of 11.6 new fiction written per day.
8. TEXT
Since their debut 1,470 days ago, a total of 14,997 fanfictions have been written about them on TXT, for an average of 10.2 new fiction written per day.
9. GOT7
Since their debut 3,343 days ago, a total of 15,552 fanfiction has been written on GOT7, for an average of 4.7 new fiction written per day.
10. MONSTA X
MONSTA X has had a total of 12,974 fanfiction written about them since their debut 2,860 days ago, for an average of 4.5 new fiction written per day.
11. TWICE
TWICE has written a total of 9,350 fanfictions about them since their debut 2,701 days ago, for an average of 3.5 new fiction written per day.
12. LONA
LOONA has written a total of 4,752 fanfictions about them since their debut 1,667 days ago, for an average of 2.9 new fics written per day.
13. BOY
THE BOYZ have had a total of 5,485 fanfiction written about them since their debut 1,923 days ago, for an average of 2.9 new fiction written per day.
14. You want one
Wanna One has written a total of 6,009 fanfictions about them since their debut 2,197 days ago, for an average of 2.7 new fiction written per day.
15. TREASURY
A total of 2,339 fanfictions have been written about them on TREASURE since their debut 948 days ago, for an average of 2.5 new fiction written per day.
