Black Friday TV deals 2022: Samsung, LG, Sony and more

Looking for a cheap TV? Black Friday is generally the best time of year to find a good TV deal, with Sony, LG, Panasonic and Samsung dropping prices on their latest 4K and OLED sets. TV prices fluctuate significantly throughout the year, and with Black Friday becoming such a big shopping event, manufacturers are on a mission to lure shoppers with discounts that look good on paper but aren’t necessarily great deals.

That’s why we’re reviewing Black Friday TV deals to filter out the junk and show you actual discounts on TVs we’ve tested and can recommend. A cornerstone of the Black Friday sale bonanza, TVs are heavily discounted throughout the shopping event, with screens of all sizes from brands like Samsung, Sony and LG discounted.

We’ve organized our Black Friday TV deals by screen size to make it easy to find a TV that fits your living space. If you see a TV deal you like in a different size, it’s worth clicking through to see if there’s a similar discount on the size you want. TVs are measured diagonally, from one corner to the other. Always measure your space before purchasing. You can return a TV that doesn’t fit, but this is what we call a “giant faff” in the industry.

And don’t forget that Black Friday isn’t just about TVs. During the sale, there are discounts on laptops, games, technology, mattresses, household and kitchen appliances, beauty products, fashion and much more. As always, the IndyBest team brings you the latest on the best Black Friday deals we’ve found, including cash from Amazon and Apple devices, cordless vacuum cleaners, and energy-saving appliances like deep fryers and heated clothes dryers.

The best deals on 32-inch TVs on Black Friday

Hisense 32A4EGTUK Smart HD TV: Was £159 now £145, Amazon.co.uk

There’s only a slight saving of £10 on this 32-inch Hisense TV, but it’s one of the cheapest Black Friday deals you’ll find. It has basic specs and a 720p display (that’s less than Full HD, never mind 4K), but offers decent enough picture quality within the budget. Compatible with a decent selection of streaming apps – the TV runs on the Vidaa operating system – it’s a great TV for the kitchen or bedroom.

The best Black Friday 42 inch TV deals

Hisense 43A6BGTUK 4K smart TV: Was £329 now £249, Currys.co.uk

Honestly, you won’t get 4K TVs much cheaper than this. Certainly not decent ones like the Hisense 43A6GTUK which supports Dolby Vision HDR, Dolby Atmos sound and a 120Hz refresh rate for console and PC gaming. What’s the catch? Well, it’s an LCD display, so you won’t get the IMAX-style rich contrast of TVs costing three to four times as much. But unless you’re assembling a Tony Soprano-style home theater system or spending your nights thinking about “nits” and “contrast ratios,” we challenge you to spot the difference. This is a 4K TV deal and it looks great.

The best Black Friday 48 inch TV deals

LG C2 48 inch 4K OLED Smart TV: Was £1,399.99, now £899, Amazon.co.uk

Launched earlier this year, the LG C2 is one of our favorite TVs and offers the best picture quality you can find in the 48-inch and smaller category. It’s a vivid 4K set with Dolby Vision HDR and Atmos sound. Xbox, PlayStation and PC gamers will appreciate the silky-smooth 120Hz variable refresh rate and 0.1ms response time, while self-illuminating OLED pixels and image processing provide rich contrast between dark and bright parts of the scene. There are discounts on most available sizes, but they are not evenly applied.

Philips 50in smart TV 4K UHD OLED: Was £679 now £549, Currys.co.uk

This Philips 4K OLED TV is £130 off Currys until Friday. That’s a decent saving on an already cheap 50-inch set with Dolby’s cinematic vision and sound system. Like many Philips TVs, it comes with ambilight technology, a brilliant setup that uses LED backlighting to illuminate the wall with the same colors you see on screen. It’s a strangely immersive effect, especially when watching movies in the dark.

Samsung UE50AU9000: Was £529 now £399, AO.com

One of the better Black Friday deals we spied on AO this morning is for this 50-inch Samsung 4K TV, which was already great value at £529 but is now a steal at £399. The TV is cheaper than its rivals because it uses cheaper LED technology, which is slightly less vibrant than OLED or QLED panels.

The best Black Friday 55 inch TV deals

The best TV deal we spotted ahead of Black Friday is for this Sony Bravia XR55A80J. It’s an excellent 55-inch 4K OLED screen, equipped with a Google TV interface, Dolby Atmos sound and Sony’s “acoustic audio surface” technology that turns the entire screen into a speaker. We still recommend a separate soundbar if you can get one. The TV has dropped to £999 from £1,399 on sale on Black Friday.

LG 55UQ7500 4K smart TV: Was £499 now £429, Very.co.uk

Here’s a £70 saving on a 55-inch smart TV from LG, one of the top-rated TV brands you’ll find. This model strikes the perfect balance between image quality and affordability and was already one of our most recommended purchases before the discount. The LCD panels may lack the rich contrast of the more expensive TVs in the range, but the suite of streaming apps, smooth interface, built-in FreeView, and seamless connectivity make it a great choice for almost any living room.

The best deal on 65″ TVs on Black Friday

LG 65in A2 OLED Smart TV: Was £1,699, now £1,299, Currys.co.uk

That’s a great price for an OLED TV this size, especially when it launches in 2022. The OLED panel uses per-pixel lighting instead of flat backlighting for unparalleled contrast and color rendition over a standard LCD or LED screen. In dark rooms, the effect is particularly noticeable, making this set ideal for home cinema viewing.

Black Friday 2022 UK

Black Friday is today. The annual sale is always held the day after US Thanksgiving. This falls on the last Thursday in November, meaning Black Friday fell on November 25 this year.

While the event only lasted one day, Black Friday has grown to cover the entire weekend, extending to Cyber Monday as well. And some retailers like to speed things up by launching Black Friday sales every week, and in some cases, even a whole month, as we saw last year with Amazon, Currys, Argos and AO, which got off to a good start on Black Friday sales in 2021 ahead of the big day itself.

When is Cyber Monday 2022?

At a time when Black Friday was completely offline and stores opened their doors to crowds of eager shoppers at midnight, Cyber Monday was the online equivalent.

Now, though, while retailers sometimes change the name of their sale as a new week starts, Cyber Monday is essentially the same. You may see exclusive deals on this day, but there’s a good chance some deals will continue throughout the weekend and Monday, which falls on November 28 this year.
