On September 26, Billboard announced that BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” made its debut at number one at both the Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts this week.

Global 200 ranks songs based on sales and streaming data from over 200 territories around the world, while Global Excl. The US chart is based on data for territories excluding the US.

That means BLACKPINK topped the Billboard Global 200 for the second time after he achieved this feat earlier this month with the pre-release song “Pink Venom”. Thanks to this, “Shut Down” becomes only the second K-pop song released in 2022 at the top of the list, after “Pink Venom”.
Moreover, BLACKPINK is now joining BTS, Olivia Rodrigo and Justin Bieber as the only artists in the world who have been at the top of the Global 200 more than once.

On the global billboard Off. “Shut Down” in the US is the third song of the girls’ group to hit number one after “Lovesick Girls” and “Pink Venom”. BLACKPINK is now the second artist with multiple # 1 numbers (three), taking over from Justin Bieber (two) and now behind BTS (six).

According to Luminate (via Billboard), BLACKPINK’s “Shut Down” amassed 152.8 million streams and 17,000 downloads in its streaming week from September 16-22. These numbers helped the quartet take first place on the Global 200 list.
Shut Down also scored 140 million streams and 13,000 downloads in territories outside the US, winning first place for BLACKPINK.

BLACKPINK becomes the group’s first artist and artist to achieve THIS on the Billboard Global 200
In addition to topping the Global 200 with “Shut Down”, BLACKPINK also secured second place this week with “Pink Venom”. The K-pop act is the first group and artist in the world to be ranked # 1 and # 2 on the Billboard Global 200 in just one week; Soloists Harry Styles (June 4) and Drake (March 20, 2021) already reached this milestone.

On September 25, BLACKPINK made history after “BORN PINK” debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. This makes the quartet the first female K-pop band and only the fourth artist in the world to debut at the top of the Billboard 200. Global 200, and Global Off. US charts at the same time.

The first three acts to achieve this achievement are BTS (from “BE” and “Life Goes On”), Taylor Swift [with “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version) and “Red (Taylor’s Version)”]and Justin Bieber [with “Peaches” (feat. Daniel Caesar & Giveon) and “Justice”].

On September 25, in the episode “Inkigayo” SBS were nominated for first place “Pink venom” BLACKPINK, “Shut Down” BLACKPINK and “After LIKE” IVE. BLACKPINK finally won with a total of 7,129 points for “Pink Venom”.
