Although Yook Sungjae posts regularly on his personal Instagram account, he is not active on his Twitter account. Therefore, his return to the latter platform was a big surprise. However, the reason for his first tweet after a long time is also something that no one predicted.

Well, the post was made by a Twitter account with the name @ou_selly and said that BTOB Sungjae’s phone number is for sale, as is his fellow members’ mobile number.

In the K-pop community, many fans realize that the people who sell idols’ personal information are none other than sasaeng. That being said, @ou_selly might be one of them.

Sasaeng defines himself as an “obsessed” fan who will go to any extreme to get closer to his favorite stars. Stalks or engages in behavior that is an invasion of a celebrity’s privacy. Sometimes they can even cause damage and injury. In fact, there have been reports of idols having minor car accidents, including BTS, GOT7 Jackson, and Super Junior Heechul, just to name a few.

In a YouTube video, Korean rapper and YouTuber Grace Kim said that sasaengs often work at phone companies, credit card companies and internal portal sites to access celebrities’ personal information.

Going back to BTOB Sungjae’s meeting with the sasaengs, it’s unclear how the male idol saw the tweets created by @ou_selly, but didn’t stop himself from triggering them with their posts.

Thankfully, the call seems to have worked, as a tweet trying to sell his phone number was removed for violating Twitter’s rules.

Soon after, BTOB fans, collectively known as Melody, teamed up to report sasaeng’s Twitter account, leading to his Twitter suspension.
