Nate Pann’s post also immediately garnered mixed opinions from other surfers. Some doubted that the woman in the photo was JooE, while others expressed their support. There were also Internet users who doubted that the guy was her boyfriend and that if they were really a couple, they would not be so openly dating.

The company said that after checking with JooE herself, they checked that the man in the photo was her longtime friend who had accompanied her with the purchase of sound equipment.
