Elon Musk’s college photos auctioned off by his ex-girlfriend for $ 165,000

Elon Musk’s college photos were auctioned off by his ex-girlfriend for $ 165,000.

A collection of never-before-seen photos and memorabilia that Tesla CEO gifted his college girlfriend Jennifer Gwynne sold Thursday for thousands of dollars.

Musk and Mrs. Gwynne dated 1994-1995 when they were students at the University of Pennsylvania, and they parted ways when he graduated and before he amassed a fortune.

“We broke up just before he started conquering the world,” said Mrs. Gwynne Boston Globe.

According to the publication, she said she got the idea when she learned that some of Musk’s signed test papers had once been auctioned for over $ 7,000, and she hoped to sell the items to raise funds for her stepson’s tuition.

The auctioned items included 18 photos, a gold and emerald necklace donated to Mrs. Gwynne – which sold for $ 51,000 – and a handwritten birthday card that read “Happy Birthday, Jennifer (aka Boo-Boo), Love, Elon.”

The 51-year-old billionaire changed his Twitter profile picture to one of the auctioned photos.

“Based on his Twitter profile today, I think I’m fine,” said Ms Gwynne.

Musk is embroiled in a public battle with Twitter over his $ 44 billion bid to buy a social media company after trying to pull back from the deal. The trial is scheduled to take place in October.
