EXO Kai recently showed his tender side to his niece and nephew.
On March 15, during KBS Cool FM’s “Lee Gikwang’s Gayo Plaza” radio show, HIGHLIGHT Son Dongwoon performed as a special DJ and EXO Kai, who recently released his third solo mini-album “Rover”, appeared as a guest.
When faced with the balance question of “Becoming a house dog versus becoming a niece/nephew”, Kai chose the latter. He then explained:My niece and nephew are 10 and 8. I’m not their father, I’m their uncle. I think it’s the perfect relationship.“
Son Dongwoon showed empathy as he remembered his 13-year-old twin nieces and how enjoyable their time together was. Kai agreed, saying “Then I feel happy. If I were a nephew or nephew, I would receive praise, gifts and allowances from Uncle Kai. I know exactly how to get Uncle Kai’s allowance, so being a niece or nephew would be perfect.“
Kai then proudly said that his niece had recently become class president, which brought pride to their family.
Son Dongwoon guessed that the niece must mention, “My uncle is Kai” at school, to which Kai replied no. He explained: “She is really smart and has great leadership skills. In our family, most of us are introverts (type MBTI I). But she seems to be the only extrovert (type MBTI E). Seeing her as class president makes us proud. This is quite rare in our family.“
However, when Son Dongwoon praised him as the “class president of the music industry”, Kai humbly declined.
Recently, after releasing his new song, Kai became friends with other artists such as SF9 Yoo Taeyang, attracting fans’ attention.
Kai also shared his excitement about his upcoming appearances on music shows, recalling how emotional he was when he last saw his fans. He said, “The last time I saw my fans, I cried. I was so touched“.
In response to a question about meeting fans through concerts, Kai said: “I will be working non-stop throughout the year, so there will be plenty of opportunities. I can’t give specific details, but I will meet the fans in the way they have been waiting for.“
