The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could face a “cold reception” from senior members of the royal family if they confirm their presence at the coronation this spring.

However, if they are traveling from California to London for the ceremony, a source suggests their reception will be frosty.

King Charles III’s decision to ask the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to “vacate” their British residence cannot be seen as anything more than a reaction to the release of Prince Harry’s memoirs, a royal expert has said.

RS Locke, a freelance writer and royal commentator, has pointed to reports Harry and Meghan have been asked to leave Frogmore Cottage “within days of the book’s release”.

It has been reported that Buckingham Palace staff have been asked to schedule the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s attendance at the coronation of King Charles III.

Although the King does not know if the couple are planning to travel from California to London for the ceremony, the Sussexes are included in all arrangements, including cars, seats at Westminster Abbey and dinner, Times reported.
