A woman who accused Herschel Walker of accompanying her to an abortion called the Georgia Republican Senate candidate to meet her after she played the audio of their phone calls.
A woman who was just Jane Doe held a press conference with lawyer Gloria Allred. The press conference began with the audio playing as the two spoke on the phone as they reportedly had a long-term relationship, even while Mr. Walker, then an NFL player, was married.
First, they played a voicemail sent by Mr. Walker while he was at the 1992 Olympics.
“It’s your stud’s calling, you big sex pup,” he said in a voicemail.
Mr Walker is currently running against Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock in Georgia in the second round of the election after neither candidate secured a majority of votes in the general election earlier this month.
Mr Warnock has said in the past that he opposes abortion in all cases, including in cases of rape, incest or when the mother’s life is at risk.
Sometimes Mrs. Doe cried as she read the letter that Mr. Walker sent to her parents.
“I love your daughter and I don’t want to hurt her,” she read in the letter. “She was a strong backbone to me through it all. She didn’t do anything wrong. If you think what I’m doing is wrong. I will back off until I get out of this mess.”
Ms. Doe also shared a photo of the two of them in 2019 that she previously shared Good morning America. The woman is the second to claim that Mr Walker helped her get an abortion after The Daily Beast reported that Mr Walker paid for another woman’s abortion.
