We arrived at the last week of October which means November is just around the corner. But before welcoming the coming month, let’s look back at the hottest K-pop returns and news from October 19-26.
K-Pop Returns (October 2022): ITZY “Boys Like You”, Jo Yuri “Loveable”, NCT Ten “Birthday” More
ITZY “Boys Like You”
Prior to the release of their upcoming album, ITZY released a pre-premiere song called “Boys Like You” on October 21st. Completely sung in English, “Boys Like You” is a pop song that carries the message that it doesn’t fall for “boys like you” anymore.

Jo Yuri “Charming”
Jo Yuri is another artist to return to K-pop in October. She released her single “Op. 22 Y-Waltz: in Minor “, which featured the title song” Loveable “. By expressing various ways to comfort other people, “Loveable” tells the story of a woman who seems indifferent but consistently works behind the scenes to help a village that seems lonely.
NCT’s tenth “Birthday”
NCT Ten is also back with a new K-pop song titled “Birthday”. “Birthday”, released on October 26, is the newest installment of the ongoing SM STATION project “STATION: NCT LAB”. It is an R&B dance song with English lyrics that compares romantic days with a lover to happy birthday.

ATBO “Attitude”
The Rookie group ATBO also joined the line-up of K-pop’s comeback in October this year. Boy group also returned to the music scene on June 26 and released their second mini-album, The Beginning: 始 作. Of the six songs on the album, “Attitude” serves as the title track. ATBO’s “Attitude” emphasizes the group’s confidence with lyrics that say you should accept a cool style and attitude that only they can have.
EPEX “Hymn to Love”
Another new K-pop song this week by the boy band is EPEX “Hymn to Love”, which is the title track of the band’s fourth mini-album “Prelude of Love Chapter 1.” Puppy Love. “Hymn to Love” is a pop dance song that compares the appearance of a boy who cannot escape his first love with the narrative of the Korean folk tale “Chunhyangjeon” (The Story of Chunhyang).

Following the end of the world tour with a concert in Los Angeles, OMEGA X fans reported that they witnessed verbal and physical abuse of band members by Spire Entertainment’s CEO Kang Seong Hee. SBS News then released an exclusive footage of the CEO abusing members as well as an exclusive report stating that OMEGA X members had booked a flight to Korea with their own money.

On October 26, BTS Jin attended the Coldplay concert in Argentina. Chris Martin gave it to him scream! during the show “My Universe” and called him “my brother”. On October 28 local time, Jin will once again be at the Coldplay concert to present his upcoming song “The Astronaut”.

Besides Jin, Jungkook is another member of BTS that is currently overseas, especially in Qatar. He is said to have gone there to promote the 2022 World Cup, but has also been spotted filming something.
