K-pop returns (4th week of December 2022):
1. MAMAMOO Moonbyul – “Present”
On December 22, MAMAMOO Moonbyul prepared a special album for fans to celebrate her birthday.
On that day, the soloist released a special single “Present”, which is an R&B punk song. The lyrics of the song captured sleepy moments with the fans, MooMoos.
In the MV, this aspect was revealed when Moon Byul became Santa by reading fans’ wishes and messages to prepare her special gifts for them.
2. TWICE – Merry and Happy 2022 Ver.
TWICE released an unexpected MV that instilled nostalgia in K-pop enthusiasts, especially ONCE!
On December 22, nonet gave his followers a version of his 2022 song “Merry & Happy”, which was released five years ago.
Christmas Song, a song from her first studio album, Twicetagram, conveys a message about making memories with someone special in the midst of winter.
3. SEVENTEEN Vernon – “Black Eye”
After becoming a hot topic for his teasers, Vernon finally released his solo mixtape on December 23 via popular music streaming platforms iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, YouTube and Apple Music.
Even before its release, “Black Eye” had generated high expectations, as it was initially reported that Vernon had contributed to the composition and writing of the song.
“Black Eye” is a pop-punk song that flaunts the unique, low-pitched voice of a male idol. The atmosphere of the song is happy and free, yet easy and rebellious at the same time, a song perfect for releasing frustration and stress.
4. 2022 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU PALACE

On December 26, SM Entertainment officially released their winter album “2022 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU PALACE”.
It contained a total of 10 songs created in collaboration with various SM artists. This includes the double title track “The Cure” and “Beautiful Christmas”.
In addition to the sound source, SM also presented a special stage video for the b-side track “Hot & Cold”, performed by EXO Kai, Red Velvet Seulgi, NCT Dream Jeno and aespa Karina.

With this, “The Cure”, which was represented by the leaders of all SM teams, marks the beginning of the future global SM movement in response to climate change and contains a message of lasting solidarity.
The official MV will be unveiled at the free concert “SMTOWN LIVE 2023: SMCU PALACE@KWANGYA” on January 1st.
5. WayV – “The Phantom”
On December 28, the long-awaited MV for WayV’s title track, “Phantom”, was finally released!
In MV, the Chinese sub-unit of the large-scale global NCT project presented the concept of vampiric royalties.
This is the group’s first comeback after the NCT Lucas hiatus since August 2021.
The group’s fourth mini-album of the same name was also released on the same day, with six songs and two bonus tracks.
