Discrimination is a topic that has yet to be resolved in the K-pop industry as many idols have experienced it one way or another. And aespa member Giselle is one of the idols who experience it all the time.

Recently, fans have been calling on several brands that aespa endorses for the gross discrimination they have shown against Giselle in advertisements featuring the group.

On the forum of the Nate Pann online community, an internet user shared a problem about Giselle on the platform. They also shared some commercials that aespa has recently engaged in which shows Giselle is being treated differently from the rest of her colleagues.

According to fans, Giselle only had one second in front of the screen when aespa endorsed the game Eternal Return. Social media accounts for the makeup brand Clio also didn’t send anything about Giselle, while the rest of the members were shared.

As for Mediheal, the brand shared photos of every Aespa member holding their product, with the exception of Giselle who only had a photo of her on a white background.

For the Aespa ad with TAMS, Giselle didn’t have any screen time in the 30-second ad. This is similar to their ad for the luxury brand Chopard, in which Giselle only had one second of running time compared to 30 seconds.

MLB Korea also did not include Giselle in the brand styling guide.

Fans urge brands to disregard Giselle

No wonder the fans didn’t like it as it is a blatant act of showing disrespect to an aespa member. And time and time again, fans have always criticized brands for treating Giselle badly. However, nothing is being done to rectify the situation.

In fact, not only brands have treated Giselle unfairly, but also reportedly her own company, SM Entertainment.

Internet users who found out about this situation also expressed their disappointment with the vocalist of “Next Level”.

Some comments from internet users read:

“Even if she’s not a popular member, it’s rude to do so. The fans must be really sad. “

“[I] will never trust any brand again. Don’t even think about getting the aespa as a whole if you all treat Giselle that way.

“Let’s stop with that toxic positive attitude because these brands are just Deliberately pushing Giselle aside, let it be in commercials, photo shoots, etc. aespa is a group of four, for God’s sake!”

“Aespa has four members, but why [do these] brands act like aspa [is] only three? For example, what’s wrong with you, you are only doing it Giselle.
