According to KBS2’s December 15 episode of “Entertainment Company Live,” IU has purchased a luxury villa in Seoul’s Gangnam-gu district called “Eterno Cheongdam,” which is still under construction and is expected to be completed in December 2023.

Upon completion, Eterno Cheongdam is set to become the most expensive property in South Korea with the top floors – Super Pent units – costing $26.5 million each.

The opulent 20-story residential complex was designed by Pritzker Architecture Prize winner Rafael Moneo as his first project in Asia.

The villa that the “Strawberry Moon” singer bought is worth 13 billion won (over $9.9 million). It is worth noting that the entire pre-sale price was paid in full in cash.

Currently, IU resides in the 56-story Raemian Caelitus apartment complex, the tallest building in Yongsan District and famous for its amazing view of the Han River. The residential area costs about $2.6-3.3 million.

Yoo In Na, known as IU’s best friend, as well as Zico and Crush are among the other celebrities living there.

In addition to the luxurious villa and apartment she bought for herself, IU also bought a two-story country house in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, where her family lives. The house is valued at three billion won (about $3 million).

The ‘Eight’ hitmaker even bought additional land surrounding the estate for 800 million won (over $610,000).

According to IU agency Kakao Entertainment, the soloist bought the house to use it to relax on weekends.

“IU bought the house to relax comfortably with her family, including her grandmother, on weekends,” the company said.

But IU not only manages to rest there, but also constantly donates at Yangpyeong-gun.

Meanwhile, IU, who debuted as a singer at the age of 15 in 2008, also gained a lot of love as an actress and became one of the most beloved celebrities in Korea. Not surprisingly, thanks to her successful career in the entertainment industry, she managed to buy luxurious mansions for herself and her family.

The IU agency announces strong legal action against malicious comments

In other news, EDAM Entertainment (subsidiary label of Kakao Entertainment) released official statement on his social media account, saying, “Since last year, we have collected evidence of perpetrators who repeatedly made malicious posts, including obvious false facts, defamation, and personal attacks against IU in several anonymous communities, including DC Inside, and filed a complaint under by law Shinwon Company.”

The company added that during the investigation, the perpetrator pleaded guilty to all criminal charges, resulting in a fine of three million won (approximately US$2,300) for violating the Information Promotion and Use of Telecommunication Networks Act and Information Protection (Defamation) and insult. The label also warned that they will continue to take strong legal action under their zero-tolerance policy.

Besides IU, EDAM is also home to WOODZ and Shin Se Kyung.
