Kim Jung Hyun and Im Soo Hyang’s upcoming fantasy drama confirms its release date and supporting cast

More details about Im Soo Hyang and Kim Jung Hyun’s new drama have been shared – including its January premiere!

MBC’s upcoming drama “Kkokdu’s Gye Jeol” (also literally meaning “Time of Kkokdu”) is a romantic fantasy romance telling the story of a grim reaper named Kkokdu who comes to this world every 99 years to punish people. Kkokdu meets Han Gye Jeol, a doctor with mysterious abilities, and starts working as a visiting doctor.

Kim Jung Hyun will play Kkokdu, an eccentric underworld guide, while Im Soo Hyang will play Han Gye Jeol, a talented doctor whose bad luck led her to graduate from the last-ranked medical school in the country. .

In addition to the two lead roles, the drama also confirmed a lineup of talented actors including Dasom, An Woo Yeon, Kim In Kwon and Cha Chung Hwa. Dasom will play the golden girl Tae Jung Won, and An Woo Yeon will play Han Gye Jeol’s younger brother and detective Han Chul, who does not tolerate injustice. Kim In Kwon will play the unwitting and oblivious god Ok Shin who looks after Kkokdu, while Cha Chung Hwa plays the exact opposite character, the intuitive god Gak Shin. As the wording “ok shin gak shinmeans “argument” in Korean, viewers can already anticipate the kind of chemistry the two seasoned actors will exhibit.

The upcoming drama will be a joint project between screenwriters Kang Yi Heon and Heo Jun Woo, who created the unique crime thriller “Less Than Evil”, and director Baek Soo Chan from “Alice”, “Into the World Again” and “Dear Fair Lady Kong”. Shim” and director Kim Ji Hoon of “Check Out the Event”, raising expectations for their special romance story that goes back and forth between the afterlife and this world.

“Kkokdu’s Gye Jeol” will air every Friday and Saturday from January 27, 2023.
