Knives Out Glass Onion star Kate Hudson opens up about Matthew McConaughey’s ‘disgusting’ kiss scene

Kate Hudson explained why she found Matthew McConaughey’s kiss scene “not very funny to shoot”.

The actor starred alongside the Oscar winner in the film How to lose a boyfriend in 10 days (2003) and Fool’s gold (2008), and had previously described the romantic scene they shared in the latter as “disgusting”.

“Every time I kissed McConaughey, it’s like there’s something going on and he’s like snot or wind,” Hudson, 43, said.

Talking about the stage during the upcoming performance at The Jonathan Ross ProgramHudson explained that the reason it “definitely wasn’t fun to shoot” was because it took place in the sea.

“The ocean, swimming and kissing isn’t always fun,” she said, adding, “Things like disgusting things happen in the ocean… we’re like treading water trying to stay above water.”

Hudson continued, “Matthew and I had very romantic kisses, and then we had very unromantic kisses.”

She also said she and McConaughey, 53, had “the same feeling” about a possible sequel How to lose a boyfriend in 10 days.

“I love working with Matthew,” said Hudson. “If for some reason a great idea came to our desk and read well, yes, I would totally go back to it. This can bring interesting things.

She then proposed an idea that she thought could work in a possible sequel.

“I’m sure it would have started with a marital conflict. Or maybe… I have no idea. How to lose a husband in 20 years…?”

Hudson was on the show to promote her new movie, Rian Johnson Knives outside continuation, glass onion. The episode will also feature guests Stormzy, Roisin Conaty and Joan Armatrading.

Although the actress was critical of her on-screen kisses with McConaughey, she previously named her favorite while appearing on Gwyneth Paltrow’s show. Goop podcast.

Commenting on his awkward kiss in the ocean involving Hudson Fool’s goldMcConaughey said Peasant! Game in November 2020: “It’s like, OK, here’s the scene – you’re in the middle of the ocean, you go underwater, then you come out of the water, like you’re gasping for air, you’re glad to be alive. Then you look at each other, swim up to each other and embrace each other.”

He continued, “There’s a lot of salt water and snot and all sorts of things that are in between all of them, so you do it and you’re like, ‘OK, I think it worked, but did it look somehow good?’ They say, “No, we’d better take one more shot.”

The Jonathan Ross Program will air on Saturday (November 26) at 10.20pm on ITV1 and ITV Hub.

Glass onion: the secret of the knife is shown in select theaters through November 29 and arrives on Netflix December 23.
