Lee Jung Jae tests positive for COVID-19 after returning to Korea after the Emmy Awards

After returning home from a historic Emma win, Lee Jung Jae was diagnosed with COVID-19.

On September 20, Artist Company Lee Jung Jae announced that the actor had tested positive for COVID-19 after passing a routine PCR test after returning to Korea.

“Under the disease control protocol, actor Lee Jung Jae underwent PCR testing on his return to Korea on September 18, and the results were positive,” the agency said.

“Actor Lee Jung Jae has now suspended all his planned activities and is isolating himself as directed by government health authorities,” continued the Artist Company. “Our agency will strictly follow the guidelines of the health authorities and will make every effort to help our actor focus entirely on his recovery, while making his health our top priority.”

On September 18, Lee Jung Jae returned to Korea from the United States after becoming the first Asian actor in history to win the Best Leading Actor in a Drama Series at the Emmy Awards (starring in the “Squid Game” megahit).

Fortunately, Lee Jung Jae’s friend Jung Woo Sung and his Squid Game colleagues Park Hae Soo and Jung Ho Yeon – all of whom flew with him on the same flight to Korea – all tested negative for COVID-19.

I wish Lee Jung Jae a speedy recovery!
