The long-awaited MAMA 2022 awards have finally taken place. On November 29, the first day of this prestigious event kicked off in Osaka, with some of your favorite artists collecting their awards.

From Stray Kids to Kep1er: Various artists honored the MAMA Awards 2022 with an impressive stage
On November 29, Japan kicked off the first day of the MAMA Awards, one of the most prestigious annual music awards in the K-pop industry. The event was held at the Kyocera Dome Osaka and was watched by over 35,000 spectators.
Besides, the show was also streamed live to hundreds of thousands of K-pop fans around the world via the music cable channel as well as on his official YouTube channel.
Hosted by Jeon Somi and Park Bogum, the event was buzzing with Day 1 artists at the red carpet event.

Artists who took part include Stray Kids, TXT, JO1, Kep1er, HYOLYN, BIBI, Forestella, Kang Daniel, NMIXX, LE SSERAFIM, Leejung Lee, Mnet’s ‘Street Man Fighter’ crews, KARA and DKZ.
The visuals of the artists were enough to light up the atmosphere of the event, but the event received even more applause from the audience thanks to the impressive performance of the artists.
Hyolyn x BIBI were the first to light up the scene with their sizzling joint performance of “LAW”, originally released by BIBI and Yoo Mirae, and “youknowbetter” Hyolyn.
The former SISTAR also performed her song “Layin Low” while the latter performed brilliantly on stage in “Vengeance”.
Among the performances, the collaboration scene of five “fourth-generation representative girl groups” including IVE, NMIXX, Kep1er, LE SSERAFIM, and NewJeans became the talk of the city for TWICE’s “Cheer Up” cover.
Crews Kang Daniel and Street Man Fighter also forced viewers to move their bodies in the collaboration scene.

During the awards portion, BTS extended their record as the K-pop artist with the most daesangs in history by 68, after being named “World Icon of the Year”. Septet was also included in the Worldwide Fans Choice Top 10.

MAMA 2022 Awards Lineup: Final Day 1 and Day 2 Artist List Revealed

MAMA Awards was originally launched in 1999 when the Mnet Video Music Awards focused on awarding music videos.
It later changed its name to the Mnet Asian Music Awards and began featuring artists from other Asian countries in 2009 as well.
In 2022, the awards ceremony became the MAMA Awards to satisfy its ambitious plan to become the No. 1 awards ceremony in the world for K-pop.
