On November 25, Korean media such as MBC Entertainment reported that the 2022 Melon Music Awards (MMA) will livestream the red carpet event exclusively via the Wavve app starting at 5:00 p.m. KST ahead of the full awards ceremony.

It was also announced that there will be special episodes that have never been seen before.

One of the performers at the 2022 Melon Music Awards is (G)I-DLE, who has established herself as one of the leading fourth generation K-pop girl groups with her recent hits “TOMBOY” and “Nxde”.

According to news outlets, (G)I-DLE will not only show group scenes, as members Soyeon and Shuhua prepare for solo rap and solo dance performances respectively.

Starship Entertainment’s new girl group IVE, taking part in the awards ceremony for the first time, will deliver a great performance with hits such as “ELEVEN”, “LOVE DIVE” and “After LIKE”.

The other girl group that is part of the MMA 2022 lineup is LE SSERAFIM and the quintet is reported to perform on a large scale, including Kazuha’s solo stage and what appears to be a runway show.

ADOR’s first idol group, NewJeans, has also joined the Melon Music Awards 2022 performer list. It is rumored that the creators of the hit “Hype Boy” will present a hip-hop-themed performance at the event.

With MMA returning as an offline event after three years, fans can watch the awards ceremony in person.

Various outdoor booths are set up at the Gocheok Sky Dome venue to keep fans entertained while waiting for the main show to start. There are welcome messages written by current artists, a space for Melon’s data lab that reveals the data collected by the platform throughout the year, and a photo area.

There is also a draw and a “Green Label” event where eco-friendly goods are offered. Fans can also find a “Sharing Merchandise” zone where they can trade and share merchandise from their favorite artists with each other.
