Mick Lynch says his train strike talks with Mark Harper have been “positive” but there is still no end in sight to the ongoing industrial action.
“We got rid of the militant nonsense we had from Grant Shapps and his cohorts in his era,” the RMT chief said.
Mr Lynch said they were “starting a dialogue” and the next step was now for the transport secretary to come forward with his plan for a solution.
“We want him to state in writing what he intends to do,” he said, adding that “warm words” mean little.
