Lee Young Ji made his debut as a rapper and initially wanted to focus on rap-focused music production. But now she is wondering if she should include singing or dancing in her performances as well.

Consequently, she asked Crush how to find her musical direction. The artist replied that she should treat creating music as writing a diary.

The male idol also confessed that he was fighting in his own musical direction, especially at a time when he was in one of the most successful moments of his career – when he released the hit OST “Beautiful”.

Crush’s “Beautiful” was the OST for the popular TV series “Goblin”. The song quickly reached No. 1 on national charts such as MelOn, Mnet, Bugs, Olleh Music, Genie, Monkey3, and Naver Music shortly after its release on December 31, 2016.

Coming back to the last episode of Lee Young Ji’s My Alcohol Diary, Crush said:

“My collapse was what I suffered the most when I released Beautiful five years ago. This song has received a lot of love from people. I was so grateful for it, but on the one hand I felt empty. “

The R&B singer continued that he was grateful to people for the song and that he had been invited to sing it at weddings on numerous occasions. However, he revealed that he doesn’t really want to play this OST on stage.

Crush explained to Lee Young Ji, “Because this song was a bit different from the song I had been working on so far.”

The Rush Hour vocalist worked with those of the Hongdae underground such as Beenzino, Zion.T, Swings and Giri Boy, and this hip-hop / R&B trend was the only genre he wanted to pursue at the time. However, “Beautiful” was a ballad.

At this point, he was musically surprised that he had finally had panic attacks, making it difficult for him to sing OST on stage. In fact, there was a time when he couldn’t breathe.
