“RESONANCE” is NCT’s second studio album with full lineup. The release covers all 23 members, including 21 existing members from NCT 127, NCT Dream, and WayV, as well as two new members, Sungchan and Shotaro.

The full album was released in two parts in 2020. Part 1 was released on October 12, and Part 2 was released on November 23. Both albums have been successful as each has sold over a million copies in South Korea. earning the group the title of “two-million salesman”.

NCT’s “RESONANCE” has also been well received in Japan. Part 1 of the album debuted at number two on the Oricon Weekly Album chart in the week of October 12-18 with a total of 53,459 units.

The studio album even took first place on the Japan’s Line Music album chart and on the Rakuten Music realtime album chart. Not only that, but NCT’s “RESONANCE” secured the 55th place on the Oricon album chart at the end of the year 2021, demonstrating the popularity of the South Korean boys’ group in the country.
Now, two years after its release, “RESONANCE” has reached an impressive milestone on the Oricon list.

October 19 was revealed that NCT’s “RESONANCE” spent a total of 100 weeks on the Oricon charts, which is a very rare achievement for a K-pop album. In fact, NCT is only the sixth Korean artist in history to have at least one album on the charts for 100 weeks on Oricon.
The first five K-pop bands to achieve this feat are BTS, TWICE, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT), SEVENTEEN, and Stray Kids.

Recent NCT activities
In recent months, members of NCT have dealt with the activities of their sub-divisions, NCT 127 and NCT Dream. (WayV is yet to come back.) They’re not going to release a new album as a full group yet.

On February 28, NCT Dream released their second studio album “Glitch Mode”. This album far exceeded two million pre-orders and achieved sales of 2,100,399 physical albums in one week.
Additionally, “Glitch Mode” debuted at number 50 on the Billboard 200 for the week ending April 9, marking NCT Dream’s number 1 hit on the charts.

Regarding the activities of NCT 127, the boys are playing gigs in different cities around the world as part of the “NEO CITY: THE LINK” world tour. The tour began in December 2021 in Seoul and resumed in May this year in Japan. The group recently completed the US leg of the tour (October 6 and 13) and will return to Asia for more shows there, starting in Seoul, South Korea.
During the world tour, NCT 127 released their fourth studio album “2 Baddies” on September 16th. The album impressively sold 1.5 million copies in its first week of release, becoming SM Entertainment’s best-selling album.
