‘The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday’ creates a breakthrough making Red Velvet sell in the millions
On January 25, it was announced that Red Velvet had sold a million copies thanks to the album “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday”.

According to SM Entertainment, the mini-album has sold a total of 1,029,463 copies as of January 20. It is the first Red Velvet album to reach one million copies.
In addition to sales, the album also achieved the highest number of pre-orders, accumulating a total of 712,187 pre-orders. Given this fact, Red Velvet’s success on the album was expected, as it was also highly anticipated by their loving fandom, the ReVeluvs.

The album features five tracks which are “Birthday”, “On A Ride”, “Celebrate”, Zoom” and “Bye Bye”.
The tracks are loved by fans because of the festive mood that captures Red Velvet’s “red” side. The main format of the song is the pop genre, featuring instruments such as drums, synthesizers, and trap rhythm.
Red Velvet Dominates iTunes Charts With ‘The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday’
Just after its release on November 28, 2022, the EP Red Velvet rose on the iTunes Album charts in various countries around the world. It has been ranked #1 in at least 47 countries such as Brazil, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico, Hong Kong, Canada, Philippines, Malaysia and others.
“The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday” is also Red Velvet’s second album, which ranks first on the iTunes charts, next to “BORN PINK” BLACKPINK.

Meanwhile, it reached number one on the European iTunes Album and Worldwide iTunes Album charts.
In addition to iTunes, the album also ranked No. 1 on the QQ Musical Digital Album Sales Chart, proving its wide fanbase in China. It also topped the Synnara, Hottracks and Hanteo national charts.

Its title track “Birthday” entered the Worldwide iTunes Song Chart at No. 21, and the B-side track “On A Ride” debuted on the same chart, peaking at No. 180. The song also debuted in South Korea at No. 1. 1 on Bugs, No. 16 on Genie and No. 19 on Melon.
The music video was released on November 28 and has accumulated 30,184,870 views since its release. ReVeluvs were thrilled to see the girl group shine in their amazing performances and colorful outfits. They also praised Red Velvet for being true to their experimental sound.
