Taiwan’s ET Today reported that the price of the BLACKPINK concert had quadrupled on March 15, with an article stating that the price had increased from NT$8,800 to NT$36,000.
According to the media, the Kaohsiung police in Taiwan caught a scalper who illegally sold BLACKPINK tickets online this weekend from March 18-19. Scalper Wi is expected to be fined for scalping tickets.
Wi was reportedly trying to sell T$8,800 (about 370,000 won) tickets for T$36,000 (about 1.53 million won), four times the original price. They also offered tickets worth T$5,800 (about 247,000 Korean won) for the same performance for T$12,000 (512,900 Korean won). Fortunately, due to the unbeatable price, no actual deals were reportedly made.
Earlier, also in Kaohsiung, after the confirmation of the BLACKPINK concert, the prices of accommodation in neighboring areas soared. It is said that before and after the announcement of the BLACKPINK concert, Hanwha’s accommodation fee jumped by about 800,000 won, and most of the rooms were booked.
BLACKPINK will continue their tour in Kaohsiung, Taiwan with a two-day concert on March 18 and 19.
