A black teenager was shot and killed by detectives from the St. Louis Police Department.
The St. Louis Municipal Police Department said on Monday that 16-year-old Darryl Ross had died in the hospital after he was shot and killed by two drug enforcement detectives.
He said Ross tried to reach for the gun he was carrying after he stumbled and fell while being chased by detectives near a gas station in the Old North St Louis neighborhood.
Ross’s family members said Post office in St. Louis that the teenager never drew his gun and that the officers did not declare themselves police.
