The line of mourners to pay tribute to Queen Elizabeth II during her retirement has been put on hold for at least six hours after reaching the maximum number of seats on Friday, September 16.
Officials asked the public to refrain from attempting to join the line at Southwark Park until the line reopened.
The DCMS live tracking said the line stretched 4.9 miles from the city at 10am, before announcing its closure.
Members of the public flocked to London to say goodbye to the Queen.
