Many songs were released by K-pop groups from January to December 2022. However, only nine of them were able to reach a rare milestone on MelOn – reaching number one on the Top 100.
As many of you know, MelOn is the largest music streaming site in South Korea, which means that its users are not only fans of K-pop but also lovers of other music genres. Considering this, it is to be expected that not all users will be interested in K-pop songs, which makes it difficult for such releases to rank high on the MelOn charts.
So let’s see which K-pop group songs were able to land at number one on MelOn’s Top 100 in 2022.

The first two tracks on our list belong to (G)I-DLE: “TOMBOY” and “Nxde”. This makes (G)I-DLE one of only two K-pop groups to hit No. 1 on the MelOn Top 100 this year.

“TOMBOY” and “Nxde” are the title tracks for “I NEVER DIE” and “I love” respectively. As of March 30, “TOMBOY” became the fourth Korean song released in 2022 with the most hours at number one on MelOn with 218 hours. On the other hand, “Nxde” is (G)I-DLE’s fastest topping chart.
BIGBANG “Still Life”

Released on April 5, “Still Life” by BIGBANG is the K-pop group’s song with the most hours at number one on MelOn’s Top 100 at 200 with 808 hours. He previously held the record for a 2022 Korean song with the most hours at the top of the said chart that year. (The record was broken by Younh’s “Event Horizon” with 819 hours as of December 11.

“Yet to Come” (The Most Beautiful Moment) by BTS is another song by the K-pop group that managed to reach number one on the 2022 MelOn Top 100 chart. Notably, “Yet to Come” is the first song of the year to go straight to No. 1. It impressively debuted at the top just one hour after its release on June 10 at 1:00 p.m. KST.
IVE “LOVE DIVE” and “After LIKE”

Next on our list are two IVE hits, “LOVE DIVE” and “After LIKE”. IVE is the second K-pop group, along with (G)I-DLE, to have two different songs topping the MelOn Top 100 this year.

Upon release, “LOVE DIVE” stayed at number one for a total of 485 hours, while “After LIKE” stayed for 658 hours (as of November 2).

BLACKPINK “Pink Venom”

While not the title track of BLACKPINK’s studio album BORN PINK, “Pink Venom” peaked at number one on MelOn’s Top 100 chart. The song reached the top just 11 hours after its release, becoming the fastest release by a K-pop girl group in 2022 to achieve this feat (as of August 19).
NCT’s “Candy” Dream

“Candy” by NCT Dream is the K-pop group’s newest song of 2022 to reach number one on the MelOn Top 100. It is also the third K-pop boy band release to do so, after BIGBANG and BTS.
