On an internet community site TheqooA post titled “The male idol who was a bank security guard when he was an ordinary citizen” was posted on October 21st.
The content of the entry said that THIS singer in the past worked as a “bank guard”, and later became an idol. During this time, he confessed that his dream was to truly become an idol, and everyone around him initially laughed at him after hearing about his passionate goal.

The video featured the boy group VICTON, in which they performed as a special guest. During the interview, a member of Sejun who is the “visualist” of the group attracted a great deal of attention after confessing his experience before he was able to make his debut.
According to the idol, he is originally a working citizen before deciding to make his dream come true and hoping to cheer up fans who hesitate to pursue their goals because they lack self-confidence.

Sejun said:
“I quit my job because of my dream of becoming a singer. When I was at work, all my co-workers, parents and even friends laughed at me after hearing my dream. “
The singer of “Mayday” continued:
“As dreams get bigger, they get out of hand. So you have to challenge yourself with an uncontrolled amount of lust in your heart and try it. You just have to be confident. “
VICTON Sejun’s journey from bodyguard to Idol
Born in 1996, Sejun graduated from industrial high school and worked as a bank security guard in the Cheongwon Police Department. But after realizing his dream, he joined the open audition for Play M Entertainment (hereinafter IST Entertainment) at the age of 20, passed and became an intern.
He only trained for a short period, and in 2016 he finally made his debut as a member of the boys’ group VICTON and acted as the ‘face of the group’.
When he made his debut, Sejun listed BTS as his role model and thanked them for the inspiration he was able to get through his tough training life.

But his debut is not the end of Sejun’s rocky journey, but only the beginning. Initially, the group struggled to get a lot of attention from K-pop fans due to the influx of boy groups from big companies.
But after members Seungwoo and Byungchan joined Mnet “Produce X 101”, the group finally got the recognition they deserve. Since then, VICTON has enjoyed popularity both in Korea and abroad.
