In their annual album sales report, Circle (Gaon) Chart revealed the 15 best-selling female artists in 2022, with K-pop girl groups dominating the list. It is also worth adding that there was one soloist in the top fifteen.

2022 Circular Chart Top Selling Artists: BLACKPINK & IVE Take Top 2
According to the Circle (Gaon) Chart album sales report released on December 21, BLACKPINK has the highest album sales among female artists this year. The quartet has sold a total of 2,825,311 copies, of which over 2.4 million were sold by their second full-length album “BORN PINK”.

Notably, BLACKPINK is the first all-female K-pop group to ever reach two million sales in South Korea. They achieved this feat with just one album.

In addition, “BORN PINK” currently has the highest first-week sales of any artist on the Circle Chart with 2.14 million copies sold.

The second best-selling artist on the Circle Chart in 2022 is “monstrous newcomer” IVE with sales of 2,601,760 albums. This figure includes the sales of the group’s second album “LOVE DIVE” and the third album “After LIKE”.
In its first month of release, “LOVE DIVE” sold over 544,000 copies, while “After LIKE” impressively sold 1.11 million copies.
2022 Pie Chart Best Selling Female Artists: Red Velvet, More Top 5
Red Velvet ranked third on the list after selling 2,121,946 copies in recent months. Their latest mini-albums “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm” and “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday” contributed to the total.

In the first half of 2022, “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm” was the best-selling album by a girl group in South Korea with over 679,000 copies sold. Meanwhile, “The ReVe Festival 2022 – Birthday” surpassed 600,000 copies in the week of December 4-10.

The fourth best-selling artist on the Circle Chart in 2022 is “CHESHIRE” singer ITZY, with sales of 2,105,910 albums. These figures include sold copies of their recent releases “CHECKMATE” and “CHESHIRE”.
ITZY joins BLACKPINK, IVE and Red Velvet as the only female band this year to have sold over two million albums in South Korea.

And the last place in the top five was secured by aespa, which sold 1,982,552 copies this year. Recall that their second mini-album “Girls” sold 1.42 million copies in its first week of release, making the quartet the first girl group to sell a million copies in its first week.
