On December 20, a post titled “Most Streamed K-Pop Songs in Japanese Karaoke in 2022” was created on the Instiz online community, revealing 20 songs that people in Japan usually sing during karaoke.

Top 20 K-Pop Karaoke Songs in Japan in 2022 – No. 1 Isn’t New
The K-pop song that surprisingly took the number one spot on the chart is BTS’s 2020 release, which is none other than “Dynamite”. This song made history this year thanks to the RIAJ certifications it received, which further proves the huge popularity of this song in Japan.

Last February, “Dynamite” was certified diamond after surpassing 500 million streams, making BTS the first foreign artist ever to earn a diamond certification for streaming in Japan.
The second most popular K-pop song in Japanese karaoke in 2022 is another BTS song – their 2021 hit “Butter”. It is worth noting that “Butter” is also an English-language edition of the septet.

In third place was a track belonging to IVE’s “Monster Rookie”, specifically their debut track “ELEVEN”, which was released in December 2021. The sextet also managed to reach No. 5 on the chart with their MMA and MAMA-winning song ” LOVE DIVE”.

Fourth place was secured by another rookie girlband song which is also a debut song, most notably Kep1er’s “WA DA DA”. This track was certified Platinum for Streams by the RIAJ just six months after its release.

At number six on the list is BTS’ third entry into the top 10 – their third UK hit “Permission to Dance”. This project ranked 23rd on the Billboard Japan year-end 2022 Hot 100.

“Savage” by aespa, released in October 2021, is the 7th most popular K-pop karaoke song in Japan in 2022. “Savage” is the quartet’s first song to spend 10 weeks on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.

In addition to BTS’s English songs, the English song TWICE also made the list. Their 2021 project “The Feels” – which is the fastest platinum song by a foreign artist on streaming in Japan – secured the 8th spot.
