The hit SBS drama “Dr. Romantic” is back in Season 3!
“Dr. Romantic” tells the story of sincere doctors working in the countryside at the Doldam Hospital. Season 1, which first aired in 2016, recorded a viewership record of 27.6 percent, while season 2 in 2020 ended with a personal best at 27.1 percent.
The first season focused on the stories of Dr. Kim (Han Suk Kyu) and additionally starred Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin, while the second season featured Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung.
On March 16, “Dr. Romantic 3 shared a behind-the-scenes look at the script reading that took place earlier on March 10 with actors Han Suk Kyu, Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Sung Kyung, Jin Kyung, Im Won Hee, Byun Woo Min and Kim Joo Heon, Yoon Na Moo, Shin Dong Wook, So Ju Yeon, Go Sang Ho, Bora, Jung Ji Ahn and others return to their roles. New cast members Lee Shin Young and Lee Hong Nae also joined in the vigorous reading of the script. Although Kim Min Jae’s return was confirmed, he was unable to attend the script reading due to a pre-planned activity and instead gave words of support.
After reuniting after three years, the cast expressed their excitement for their return. Han Suk Kyu, who plays the titular role of the eccentric Dr. Kim, said, “I’d love to create Season 3 with everyone again. Thank you for creating the scene for Season 3,” causing cheers of “Dr. Who is!” resound throughout the room.
Ahn Hyo Seop, who plays General Surgeon Seo Woo Jin, said, “It’s an honor to work together again,” while Lee Sung Kyung, who plays heart surgeon Cha Eun Jae, who overcame her fear of surgery last season, said, “It’s I’m lucky to be able to work again on a project that so many people have loved.”
The actors who make up the Doldam Hospital family once again impressed with their excellent teamwork. Jin Kyung returns as head nurse Oh Myung Shim, Im Won Hee plays administration chief Jang Ki Tae, Byun Woo Min is Nam Do Il’s anesthetist, Yoon Na Moo plays Jung In Soo from the emergency room, so Ju Yeon plays nurse Yoon Ah Reum, Shin Dong Wook is Bae Moon Jung, an orthopedic doctor, Bora plays Joo Young Mi’s nurse, and Jung Ji Ahn plays Uhm Hyun Jung’s nurse.
Kim Joo Heon, who played director Park Min Gook in opposition to Dr. Kim will also reprise her role, this time supporting Dr. Kim will play Park Min Gook’s loyal subordinate Yang Ho Joon in season 3. Go Sang Ho.
The production team concluded by sharing, “Viewers will be able to see a deeper chemistry between director Yoo In Shik, screenwriter Kang Eun Kyung and Doldam. [family] actors who have already shown exceptional teamwork in Season 3.

“Dr. Romantic 3” will premiere in April as a follow-up to “Taxi Driver 2”, which currently occupies a Friday and Saturday timeslot at 10 p.m. KST.
