Rishi Sunak will face Sir Keir Starmer at PMQ ahead of Jeremy Hunt’s Spring Budget on Wednesday (March 15).
The pair will clash before the chancellor makes a long-awaited statement in the House of Commons detailing his economic policy announcements.
Ahead of Mr Hunt’s official speech, the Treasury said the energy price guarantee would be extended for three months beyond April.
“High energy bills are one of the biggest worries for families, which is why we maintain the energy price guarantee at the current level,” the Chancellor said in a commentary ahead of his announcement.
Mr Hunt is also expected to announce changes to pensions and child benefits in his 2023 finance plan as the government hopes to encourage more people to return to work.
The prime minister’s questions will begin at noon ahead of the chancellor’s budget statement at 12.30pm.
