WHO Director General Thanks Lee Seung Gi and “The Law Cafe” for listing their salt recommendations

Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), personally thanked Lee Seung Gi and his new drama “The Law Cafe” for their recent scream!

In the first episode of KBS 2TV’s new romantic comedy “The Law Cafe,” the character Lee Seung Gi warns his tenants of the dangers of excessive sodium intake. Mentioning specifically the World Health Organization, he chided his tenants, saying: “The World Health Organization – WHO – recommends a daily intake of no more than 2,000 milligrams of sodium. That’s 5 grams of table salt, or about one level teaspoon of salt. ‘

Following the premiere, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus thanked Lee Seung Gi and KBS on Twitter for the mention.

Publishing an excerpt from the scene, he wrote: “Thank you [in Korean] for voicing WHO’s salt intake recommendations, Lee Seung Gi and KBS, in your new K drama “The Law Cafe”! Indeed, #Less salt is better for our health – no more than a teaspoon a day ”.
