YGNGG Coming in 2023: K-Media Reveals More Details About Sister Group BLACKPINK
On December 30, YG Entertainment surprised the K-pop industry with the official announcement of its new girl group.
Amidst the uproar in the industry over iKON’s departure, the agency unveiled a poster on the same day featuring the phrase “YG NEXT MOVEMENT”.

On the poster there are silhouettes of seven girls who promise extraordinary charisma and visuality.
Also engraved on the teaser image is the date 01/01/2023 0 AM (KST), indicating that further details will be revealed about the alleged septet and its full-fledged operation next year.
K-pop fans around the world are already showing high expectations as YG Entertainment will start a new girl group for the first time in around seven years since BLACKPINK in 2016.

According to the media, YG has been working hard to prepare for a new girl group that was initially supposed to launch in 2022. However, the company saw as the most opportune time to introduce the team; thus their debut was postponed to the following year.
The outlet also stated that the group would be various with 2NE1 and BLACKPINK. When the latter debuted, they were compared to many second-generation K-pop icons in terms of number of members and similar concept of falling in love with girls.
But this time, based on the poster, YGNGG will be a seven-member group, and “it’s clear they’re going to have a different try.”
Speaking about their concept, OSEN also reported that newcomer YG will consist of “a team of high school students in their teens.”

The media socket stated:
“They will be the youngest group of girls in YG itself and consist of the most elite members who have been training for an average of five years.
As such, the number of members has increased compared to the existing YG girl groups, and the next generation girl group that has lowered the age group is known as the best member selected from applicants from all over the world.

As for their possible name, K-pop fans are guessing that the girl group will most likely have it A little monster like their name.
Last year, YG Entertainment announced that they planned to form a new girl group to replace BLACKPINK. As a result, the Korean Intellectual Property Office reported that the company had registered a trademark, including the name “Baby Monster” and the abbreviation “BAEMON”.
Since one of the global factors of BLACKPINK’s popularity is cultural diversity with different life experiences, the next-generation YG girl group will also look forward to the charm of the members and the synergy of the connection that will captivate music fans around the world.
